The process of industrialization is adversely impacting the environment globally. Not only large industries generate wastewater which is discharged to the environment, but also the large number of small and medium size industries releasing their effluent to the environment have a significant impact to the environment. Also, the wastewater of the households contributes significantly to the pollution rivers and groundwater. Consequently, wastewater treatment in proper wastewater treatment plants is a must.

The wastewater of larger industries is usually treated by the companies themselves. Smaller companies are sometimes combining their effluents and treat them in Centralized Effluent Treatment Plants. Cities run their own wastewater treatment plants to treat the wastewater of the large number of households.

Proper Operation & Maintenance of Wastewater Treatment Plants (WWTP) is important from standards and compliance point of view. However, many wastewater treatment plants are not giving desired results due to lack of knowledge and skill for operating and maintaining these plants. Therefore, proper training on wastewater treatment plant operation is necessary to run a WWTP in accordance with government regulations.
After this training, the candidate will be capable to work as Wastewater Treatment Plant Technician. This training specializes in operation & maintenance of the Industrial and Housing Societies Wastewater Treatment Plants.
